Mexico will encourage Clean Energies. The Energy Commission approved a PEMEX and CFE joint plan to encourage clean energies within their priorities.
The Energy Commission, headed by the Mexican representative, Manuel Rodríguez González, approved its work plan for the last year of the current legislature.

Clean energies, priorities and challenges
Priorities in the new agenda are Mexican Oils’ (Petróleos Mexicanos or PEMEX in Spanish) production, oil rent, electricity rates, to strengthen the Federal Electricity Commission (Comisión Federal de Electricidad or CFE in Spanish), and to boost clean energies.
The work agenda includes an active collaboration between PEMEX and several coordinated regulatory orrgans related to energy topics. For instance, an analysis of hydrocarbons’ exploration and extraction is provided within the plan’s objectives.
The plan highlights the importance of boosting clean energy and renewables to achieve the Energy Transition Law. This document sets that by 2024, clean energy used by the industry must represent 35% of total industrial consumption.

Additionally, the project says it is necessary to guarantee that the whole chain value has effective informational and measurement systems regarding renewables. Also, the State and companies will compulsory use molecular fuel markers, already available in the market.
